{"id":1490,"date":"2010-02-13T09:53:59","date_gmt":"2010-02-13T16:53:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ensobottles.com\/blog\/?p=554"},"modified":"2010-02-13T09:53:59","modified_gmt":"2010-02-13T16:53:59","slug":"the-truth-about-biodegradable-plastics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ensoplastics.com\/theblog\/?p=1490","title":{"rendered":"The Truth About Biodegradable Plastics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Plastic has become an important aspect in our lives, can you imagine what kind of care you would get in a hospital if we didn\u2019t have plastic?\u00a0 Some historians are saying that this age will be known as the plastic age.\u00a0 The next time you go to the store take a look around and see if you can find products that don\u2019t have plastic.\u00a0 As important as plastic is to our lives it has also demonstrated some negative side effects and there isn\u2019t any one perfect answer for solving plastic pollution.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here in the U.S. recycling rates for plastic is less than 30 percent which means a lot of plastic is ending up in a landfill.\u00a0 Many other countries do a much better job of\u00a0<a id=\"KonaLink0\" href=\"http:\/\/www.articlesbase.com\/environment-articles\/the-truth-about-biodegradable-plastics-1809945.html#\" target=\"undefined\"><span style=\"color: #009900;\">recycling<\/span><\/a> then we do here in the U.S., and our recycling rate isn\u2019t going to improve until the recycling industry develops markets for recycled materials.<\/p>\n<p>Many companies are trying to do something about plastic pollution and are developing more environmentally friendly plastics.
